Text Me explores performance
in every day life and the extent to which modern technology has become
an integral part of our lives.
Participants of the game receive short text messages with instructions,
which should be performed when read. These can be very simple tasks,
such as "Wink to a stranger" or "Jump 5 times",
or more elaborate ones, such as "Come up to a stranger and have
a conversation about love with them" or "Tell 10 people
you like their style".
Performance of these tasks elicits unexpected reactions and interactions
and challenges the performatic aspect of our behavior. Besides, what
happens when the participants of the game can start sending the tasks
to each other? Will they create a self-organized fluxus-like community
or will it turn into half sect, half flash mob?
